UMass Dartmouth is showing it's support for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings with a special fundraiser later this month.

While a nationwide fundraiser is kicking off Friday, with runners relaying from Los Angeles to Boston, UMass Dartmouth is doing the same on a smaller scale.

UMass Dartmouth spokesman John Hoey says students came up with the Torch Relay from Dartmouth to Boston to benefit the One Fund, and to show they stand with those affected by the events of April 15.

The UMass Dartmouth Torch Relay is scheduled for June 30, and will run 54 miles from the campus to Boston Common, where local runners will meet up with the national relayers.
