UMass Dartmouth is holding graduation exercises throughout the weekend.

Nearly 2,000 students will receive their degrees from the University. Spokesman John Hoey says this weekend, the school will award 30 doctorate degrees, the highest amount in the school's history. "It's significant that in the year that we're named a national research university we're graduating our highest number of Ph.D.'s," said Hoey. "And a lot of those are in Education Leadership, which obviously is a critical issue here in the region."

Graduation ceremonies will run all weekend, beginning with the Charlton College of Business Friday morning, and ending with the School of Law exercises on Monday morning.

The ceremonies can be seen live at umassd.edu.
