Patriots Day will not be filmed on the UMASS Dartmouth campus.

Acting Chancellor Gerry Kavanaugh released a statement on Facebook informing students and others that the CBS Films request to shoot parts of Patriots Day on the campus has been declined.

There were mixed emotions to this news in the statements' comment section, but Kavanaugh cited production activities being too disruptive to the campus community as their reason for declining.

Kavanaugh did say in his statement,

We are hopeful that the movie does justice to the many courageous victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy and their families, as well as the public safety officers who demonstrated such selfless dedication to their duty."
