U.S. Ambassador, Members Of Staff Killed In Libyan Attack
The US consulate in Libya was attacked late Tuesday, resulting in the deaths on the ambassador, and three members of his staff. We are getting confirmation from Libya this morning that the US Ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens, has been killed during an attack in Libya. Three Libyan officials are confirming the death. Three US members of his staff were also killed.
Protesters gathered outside of the Embassy's in Cairo and Benghazi. Things turned ugly when the protesters ripped down the American flag at the Cairo embassy, and replaced it with a Muslim flag. The reason for the protest was because they were upset with an Israeli film, that was being promoted by an anti-Muslim group.
Stevens and his staff were killed when they were trying to escape, and were shot by the angry mob.
