Two Cases of Whooping Cough Confirmed at Freetown-Lakeville Middle School
LAKEVILLE — There are two confirmed cases of whooping cough at the Freetown-Lakeville Middle School.
Health officials are investigating several other suspected cases of the illness, which is also known as pertussis. It's contagious and causes uncontrollable coughing spells, often followed by vomiting.
Anyone with symptoms is strongly advised to seek medical care.
