State and local police have arrested 20 suspected drug dealers in Fall River.

According to State Police, an additional 18 suspects have been identified and are now being searched for.

The arrests are the result of a long investigation by the State Police Gang Unit, the Southeastern Massachusetts Gang Task Force, and Fall River Police, looking to crack down on suspects dealing heroin, crack cocaine, and marijuana within the Spindle City.

State Police say recent sweeps in Lawrence and Holyoke are part of the State Police Heroin Initiative, and netted about 20 arrests in each round-up.
