President Donald Trump has set several traps and the Democrats not only stepped in them but packed their stuff, moved in and set up residence there.

Trump has made it abundantly clear that America will never become a socialist nation and he is taking steps to be sure it doesn't happen. At least not on his watch, anyway.

First, Trump forced the Democrat leadership to publically embrace the cause of illegal immigration by announcing there would be sweeping ICE raids to round up criminal illegals who should have been deported already. Nancy Pelosi and company quickly rushed to protect the illegals by advising them on how to elude capture by ICE agents. That put her squarely on the side of the socialist radicals that continue to challenge her authority.

Then Trump went after the four new socialist members of the House, insisting that they are anti-American and should leave "if they do not like it here." These remarks drew the usual condemnation from the left and the media but again forced the Democrat leadership to side with the radical socialists.

All of this might have united a divided Democrat Party, at least for the moment, but that was the plan. The party is now united behind Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rep.Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Boston and Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, known as "the squad." They are now the face of the Democrat Party and that is exactly the way Trump planned it. Pelosi has been all but neutralized, at least for now.

Trump's comments were a bit rough and may have ruffled a few feathers, but too bad. I'd rather melt a few snowflake hearts than hand over my beautiful country to a bunch of socialists.
