The Pawtucket Red Sox will continue to play at McCoy Stadium according to a joint letter from the city's mayor and the PawSox owner.

Yesterday owner Larry Lucchino and Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien released a joint statement saying;

the club has heard the people of Rhode Island loud and clear and has refocused itself. New ballpark planning has been put on the back burner, and our primary focus this year is on our fans and the McCoy Stadium experience.”

Though specifics on any stadium improvements were not in the letter, according to the Valley Breeze it did state that owners are hoping to work with both the private and public sectors to make Pawtucket Red Sox “a baseball, charitable, civic and entertainment success."

No word on how long the team will continue to play at McCoy Stadium, but for this summer baseball will remain in Pawtucket.
