Transit officials say signal problems that disrupted service to Boston's busiest commuter hub have been resolved.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority said trains will be running into and out of South Station on their regular schedule Friday after the problems with an Amtrak signal were fixed.

The malfunctioning signal triggered massive delays on Thursday. Passengers on commuter rail trains from west and south of Boston were forced to get off trains at stops before South Station and transfer to rapid transit lines or walk the remaining distances to their destinations.
