FALL RIVER (1420 WBSM) — A third suspect has now been charged in the fatal shooting that occurred just after midnight Sunday outside of a Fall River bar, including being charged with manslaughter.

According to District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, Anthony Miranda, 36, of New Bedford and Fall River was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with manslaughter, assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, carrying an illegal firearm, and carrying a loaded illegal firearm.

Miranda will be arraigned today in Fall River District Court.

The charges stem from the October 9 homicide of Jose Roberto Zelaya, 45.

Fall River Police responded to the Riverside Sports Bar and Restaurant on Rodman Street just after midnight Sunday for a reported altercation and shooting outside. They arrived to find Zelaya on the ground. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Two other suspects were previously arrested in connection with the homicide and scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Jose Pagan, 23, of Fall River faces charges of accessory after the fact to an assault and battery by discharge of a firearm. Luis Colon-Delgado, 42, of Fall River is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
