Police Investigating Fatal Fall River Shooting
FALL RIVER -- A man was killed in a shooting outside a Fall River sports bar early Sunday morning that has led to the arrest of two other Fall River men.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said 45-year-old Jose Roberto Zelaya was shot outside the Riverside Sports Bar and Restaurant on Rodman Street just after midnight Saturday night/early Sunday morning.
First responders were called to a reported fight and a shooting, arriving to find Zelaya on the ground, the office stated.
He was rushed to St. Anne's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:20 a.m.
The D.A.'s office said 23-year-old Jose Pagan and 42-year-old Luis Colon, both of Fall River, have been arrested in connection to the killing.
Colon is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Pagan is charged with being an accessory after the fact to an assault and battery by discharge of a firearm.
Both men are set to be arraigned in Fall River District Court tomorrow, the D.A.'s office said.
The incident is being actively investigated as a homicide.
No further details have been released.
