New Bedford businesses, like all businesses in Massachusetts, are seeking to reopen following the three-month shutdown of the economy because of COVID-19. The New Bedford Economic Development Council is working with businesses to make their reopening successful.

Derek Santos heads the Economic Development Council. He spoke with Townsquare Sunday host Jim Phillips this week about the work his agency is doing, the city's unemployment situation, and how long businesses may have to live under the pandemic protocols.

Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program that highlights individuals and organizations working to improve the quality of life in Greater New Bedford. If you would like to appear on Townsquare Sunday contact the host at jim.phillips@townsquaremedia.com.
