Taunton Woman Gets Jail Time After Stealing From Elderly Neighbor
A Taunton woman has pleaded guilty to charges of larceny and forgery, while admitting she stole $75,000 from her elderly neighbor.
The District Attorney's office says 41-year old Julie Krajewski secretly wrote checks to herself while assisting her 90 year old neighbor.
She was sentenced to 2-1/2 years at the Bristol County House of Correction, plus ten years probation and must pay restitution to the victim. Prosecutors had asked the judge for a one to four year sentence in state prison.
District Attorney Tom Quinn says Krajewski was trusted by her neighbor, and she manipulated that trust to steal money...behavior he called reprehensible.
