TAUNTON — Taunton Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in that city early this morning.

According to Police Chief Edward J. Walsh officers responded at around 7:50 this morning to 3 Dean Avenue for a report of a man who had been stabbed.

Officers arrived to find a 33-year-old Taunton man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to an area hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigating officers arrested a 30-year-old woman in connection. Her name is being withheld pending the issuance of a criminal complaint, but police say she will likely face numerous charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say the incident was not random.
