A 22-year-old Taunton man has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole for fatally stabbing a 17-year-old youth in 2010.

The Taunton Daily Gazette reports that Etnid Lopez was sentenced Thursday following his conviction earlier this week in the death of Tigan Hollingsworth in June 2010.

Although Lopez was convicted of first-degree murder, which usually carries a life sentence with no parole, he is eligible for parole because he was 17 at the time of the slaying.

Lopez's brother and uncle were also convicted of murder in the case.

Authorities say Hollingsworth was stabbed 13 times by Lopez after he was chased from a Taunton convenience store by the three others.

Lopez and the victim had a history of bad blood.
