Taunton Man Convicted in Brutal Stabbing Death of Falmouth Teen
BARNSTABLE (WBSM) — A Taunton man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2023 stabbing death of a Falmouth teen.
Jury Convicts Taunton Man in Teen’s Killing
Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois announced that Adrian Black was convicted of first-degree murder by a Barnstable County jury after an 11-day trial in Barnstable Superior Court and about two hours of deliberations.
What Happened in the June 2023 Stabbing
The charge dates back to June 10, 2023. On that date, Falmouth Police received a 911 call reporting a possible stabbing at an apartment complex. First responders arrived to find a male, later identified as 19-year-old Milteer Hendricks of Falmouth, bleeding from his chest with what appeared to be a stab wound. He was taken to Falmouth Hospital and later airlifted to a Boston-area hospital, where he died from his injuries on June 11, 2023.
Investigation Reveals Group Attack
The investigation revealed that five people had arrived at the apartment complex in a BMW. The group, which included Black, intended to attack Hendricks, who the D.A.’s Office said was unarmed and outnumbered. Black then stabbed Hendricks in the chest before fleeing the scene with the other four people in the BMW.
Arrest Made Days After the Killing
On June 12, 2023, Black, who was then 22 years old, was arrested in Taunton and charged with murder.
Sentencing and Potential Penalty
He is scheduled for sentencing today in Barnstable Superior Court and faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
