Deep Pond Farm in Taunton has been closed for months but it reopens this week with the cutest animal maternity ward.

Over the last six months, Deep Pond Farm and Stables has been closed to the public. The Ghazal family that owns and runs the farm has been working on a new menu and giving the farm some upgrades, or as they refer to it, "a glow up."

It will be opening for the season on May 31 with lots of fun things to enjoy, including live entertainment. What caught my eye was what the farm is calling the "Maternity Ward," which has a brand-new baby donkey, baby cow and a ton of baby goats. This is the cuteness overload we all need.

The best part is Deep Pond Farm is always free and open to all ages. Not many farms like this, if any, are 100 percent free to visit; even parking is free.

The recent announcement post on Facebook also mentioned that construction is still ongoing so we had to know what they are working on.

"Right now they are working on a sewer line and permanent bathrooms are being installed as part of a bigger growth plan we have in the coming seasons," owner George Ghazal said.

Ghazal shared that the growth plan is taking shape for Deep Pond, which has the family very excited.

Ghazal mentioned that the city has given the farm temporary permission to open while the bathrooms are being completed and there are fancy facilities available until the construction is complete.

Finally, I had to know more about this new menu.

"We are still staying true to our, farm-to-table offerings," he said. "You can even enjoy our very own wine."

I also learned that just about all of their sauces, except the ketchup and mustard, are made from scratch using mostly ingredients from the farm.

It's sure to be an amazing summer season over at Deep Pond. Now someone point me to where I can see the baby donkey.
