State Police Bomb Squad

A rusted shell found by a scallop boat and brought ashore yesterday morning does not pose an explosion risk, authorities said after the State Police Bomb Squad and U.S. Navy ordnance disposal specialists examined the object.

New Bedford police confirmed the bomb scare on Mosher Street earlier today was, in fact, an improvised exploding device that was detonated safely without incident.
