GNB Voc-Tech’s “Middle School Night” was a rousing success, not only because of the large number of potential students who came to check out the campus, but also because the Bears provided their potential future schoolmates with a thrilling 34-8 win over Fairhaven at the Bears’ Den.

The Apponequet Lakers have always had trouble getting by Dighton-Rehoboth, falling to the Falcons for the past four straight years. But this past Saturday, they no trouble at all taking control of the South Coast Conference’s A Division by blanking D-R, 29-0.
It was the second straight shutout for the 2-0 Lakers.
Apponequet was expected to be one of the Southcoast’s dominant high school football teams going into the season, and they didn't disappoint in their opener, trouncing Fairhaven 45-0.
In High School Action, the annual Cranberry Bowl was played in Mattapoisett pitting Wareham against Old Rochester. Wareham retained the top spot in the SouthCoast Conference with a 12 to 7 win in a defnsive minded game.
