Massachusetts seniors should order their lifetime free parking pass for state parks and beaches now in order to receive them in time for the summer season.
On Sunday evening, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation closed Horseneck Beach in Westport once again due to Portuguese men o' war and dangerous ocean currents.
Westport police say public beaches have been closed to swimming for the rest of the day, after a shark was spotted by a Horseneck Beach lifeguard on Wednesday morning.
Westport's Horseneck Beach and Fairhaven's Fort Phoenix Beach have lifeguards seven days a week, while Dartmouth's Demarest Lloyd State Park is unprotected.
