Yesterday a Yarmouth man was caught in New Bedford for allegedly trafficking fentanyl just blocks away from the city's courthouse after detectives stopped him for a traffic violation.

New Bedford Police are investigating an incident last night in which shots were fired in the city's West End.

Through the investigation and evidence discovered, Detectives were able to identify the suspect.

New Bedford firefighters quickly doused two fires Sunday night. The first happened in an apartment house at 156 Chestnut Street.  Fire Chief Michael Gomes says the fire ignited in a kitchen and caused an estimated $35,000 damage.  Gomes says the fire was pretty much contained to that apartment...
