NEW BEDFORD — Police in New Bedford are investigating an incident last night in which shots were fired in the city's West End.

Police said officers in the West End area responded to a call for shots fired near the intersection of Foster and Maxfield Streets at around 6 p.m. Monday.
Shell casings were found at the intersection, according to police.

There were no reported injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with any information about the gunshots Monday night can leave an anonymous tip on the police department's voicemail at (508) 991-6300 ext. 1.
