Sycamore Street Home Yields Firearm, Stolen Property, Drugs and Cash
A 21-year-old New Bedford man is facing a host of charges after police find stolen property, a firearm, drugs, and cash in his Sycamore Street home.
New Bedford police were investigating a stolen dirt bike this week and secured a search warrant for 208 Sycamore.
There, they recovered the stolen dirt bike, a stolen firearm and ammunition, six pounds of marijuana, 50 oxycodone pills, and nearly $8,000 in cash.
The dirt bike was returned to its owner.
Police arrested the occupant, 21-year-old Austin Mendes.
He'll be arraigned on two counts of receiving stolen property, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
