Swansea Fatal Crash Victim Identified as East Providence Man

SWANSEA — The victim of a fatal one-vehicle crash in Swansea early Sunday morning has been identified as 25-year-old Philip Mello of East Providence.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said the crash took place on Route 6 in Swansea just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Mello was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, according to the office.
