An Acushnet chiropractor's office is hoping to soon be back in business after an SUV crashed through the front of the building Tuesday morning.

According to a statement from Acushnet Fire Chief Kevin Gallagher, the department got a call at approximately 10:50 a.m. Tuesday to report a vehicle had crashed into Crabbe Chiropractic, located at 132 South Main Street. Gallagher says that within minutes, police, fire and EMS crews responded and found a passenger vehicle approximately eight feet into the building, having driven through the glass door and window of the office.

The sole occupant of the Jeep Cherokee Laredo, an elderly female driver, said she was uninjured but could not exit the vehicle, because of debris lodged against the driver's side door. She was removed by first responders and assessed by paramedics at the scene.

Gallagher says there were two employees in the building at the time of the incident, and neither were injured.

The incident remains under investigation by Acushnet Police. The Building Commissioner was also on scene to assess the damage and structural integrity of the building.
