Suspected Drunk Driver Hits, Injures State Trooper

State police say a trooper has been struck and injured by a suspected drunk driver while he worked a traffic detail following a New England Patriots game.

The trooper was working a traffic control assignment on foot in Foxborough when he was hit by a Jeep Liberty. It happened around 11:50 p.m. Monday.

The trooper was alert and able to walk, but he was in pain. He is being evaluated at a local hospital.

The driver, 29-year-old Catherine E. Williams of Beverly, has been arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol. It wasn't immediately known if she has a lawyer.
