Young kids shouldn’t ever have to go hungry. That’s why we are partnering with United Way of Greater New Bedford for the Spring Edition of the Hunger Heroes Project. We’ll be collecting items to serve school-aged children of the SouthCoast nutritious packaged meals and snacks to keep them fed over school vacation week.

Join us at Aldi in Dartmouth from 10 am to 12 noon. Just stop by to drop off your items and we will take it from there. Volunteers will sort through the donations right on-site. This is the first year that we are hosting this particular drive at a grocery store, so it will be even easier to purchase the necessary items and donate them all in one place.

When considering making a donation, please keep in mind that family-sized or value-sized packages are too big for this particular drive. The basic sizes of any of these products are best in terms of transport for these children.

Acceptable Items: non-perishables and canned goods including:

  • Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese
  • Cereal
  • Granola bars, kid-friendly
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly (no glass)
  • Fruit cups
  • Apple Sauce cups
  • Healthy, Kid-Friendly Snacks:
    1. Dried fruit
    2. Fruit snacks
    3. Pretzels
    4. Trail mix
    5. Nuts

United Way is also offering an online option as well so you can order right off the wish list of necessary items and have them delivered to the office in advance. Please click HERE for that link.

Please help us make the Third Annual Hunger Heroes - Spring Edition a huge success.

This program is made possible by our friends at Prima Care and First Citizens Federal Credit Union.
