BOSTON – A little relief for drivers as we head into the 4th of July. The price of a gallon of gasoline is down three-cents-a-gallon this week.

AAA Northeast says its weekly survey found self-serve regular selling for an average $2.84, down from $2.87 one week ago. That price is also eight-cents-a-gallon lower that it was over the Memorial Day weekend.

The automobile organization says the lowest price they found in Massachusetts was $2.69 per gallon, and the highest is $2.96.

The bad news though, current gasoline prices in the region are 66-cents higher than they were on July 4th, 2017.
