A long-distance bike path is the subject of a summit Thursday night.

Kim Ferreira of Mass in Motion says a number of speakers will throw in their support for the South Coast Bikeway, a proposed stretch of path that would snake along railways from Providence to New Bedford and beyond. Ferreira says the path is attractive for several reasons.

Representatives from several organizations are hosting the summit, which will see local politicians and bike enthusiasts.

The meeting is being held from 6-8pm at the UMass Dartmouth School of Law on Faunce Corner Road.
