I have little regard for people who attempt to stop my right to demonstrate. I reserve the coveted heading of "sophomaniac" for those folks. Sophomania is a delusion of superior intelligence.

I was invited to join in on a pro-Trump boat parade that will be sallying forth off of Newport this Sunday. Almost as soon as the word spread about the Trump rally, the sophomaniacs sprung into action, doing everything possible to shut the parade down, according to the organizers. I've been told the ACLU looks down on anyone who attempts to stop any group from peacefully demonstrating. That's what I'm told.

The event will begin on the water right outside the Newport Bridge at 11 a.m. this Sunday, August 23. It should be a sight to see as the parade of boats, flying huge Trump flags and such, head north towards Bristol and go as far as Colt State Park. The boaters will have plenty of space to turn around there and the spectators will also have a great view.

There's more information on the Facebook page "Let's Turn the Bay Red." It looks like a lot of people will be attending, so practice safe distancing guidelines and don't pay any attention to the sophomaniacs who believe they can demonstrate but not certain others.
