
Somerset Man Killed in Swansea Crash Involving Motorcycle and Dump Truck
SWANSEA (WBSM) — A Somerset man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a dump truck Friday morning in Swansea.
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, Massachusetts State Police and Swansea Police were dispatched to 814 Grand Army Highway (Route 6) and Milford Road at about 8:20 a.m. on April 24.
They arrived to find a blue Can-Am Spyder Roadster that had sustained damage in a collision with a dump truck. The motorcycle driver, identified as Alan Scott, 67, of Somerset, was found with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced deceased shortly after.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Swansea Police.
