Senate To Weigh Social Media And Alcohol Sales Bills

The Massachusetts Senate is poised to debate bills designed to protect the social media accounts of workers and allow the sale of alcohol on Sunday mornings.

The social media bill would bar employers from requiring workers or job applicants to disclose user names or passwords to personal social media accounts.

The amendment would also make it illegal for an employer to force workers or applicants to add the employer to any list of contacts associated with personal social media accounts.

Senate lawmakers will also debate a bill to allow retail sale of alcoholic beverages beginning at 10 a.m. Sundays.

Currently liquor stores can't sell any alcohol until noon Sunday.

The Senate will also debate a bill to limit the practice of health care practitioners selling medical devices or products in their offices.
