BOSTON — A Seekonk man with a prior child porn conviction pleaded guilty on Tuesday to multiple charges of possessing child pornography.

Sean Trahan, 44, admitted in federal court to two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of access with intent to view child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The charges stem from two separate investigations.

An undercover investigation in 2015 revealed that Trahan used the Dark Web to access child pornography in February that year.

In October 2015, Trahan was arrested after a search of his home revealed child porn images on his personal computer.

When he was arrested, Trahan admitted that he had accessed websites containing child pornography.

He was released on certain conditions, including cell phone monitoring.

But on Sept. 8, 2021, Trahan was arrested once more for violating the conditions of his release.

Another search of his home in September 2021 revealed child pornography on Trahan’s tablet.

He remains in custody.

Trahan was further charged in October after continued investigation connected him with a username that posted child pornography in a Kik messenger group.

Trahan faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of $250,000.

Due to a prior conviction for the same charges, Trahan faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 10 years in prison.

Sentencing is set for Feb. 17, 2022.

Paranormal Activity Reported in Massachusetts' Bridgewater Triangle

In his 1983 book Mysterious America, cryptozoologist Loren Coleman introduced a term he originally coined in the late 1970s – the Bridgewater Triangle – to describe an area with an abnormal level of paranormal activity and high strangeness in Southeastern Massachusetts. Over the years, the concept of the Triangle has expanded to include ghostly reports, UFO sightings, cryptid encounters, alien abductions and more across a wider swath of Southern New England.
