SEEKONK (WBSM) — A Springfield man was killed Tuesday in a crash that occurred in Seekonk.

According to Massachusetts State Police, troopers assigned to the Dartmouth barracks responded at about 1:20 p.m. on July 2 to reports of a three-car crash on Interstate 195 westbound just before Exit in Seekonk.

Troopers arrived and closed down all three lanes in order to attempt life-saving efforts for the occupants of the crash vehicles.

State police said the operator of a 2022 Toyota Highlander, a 36-year-old man from Springfield, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. His identity has not been released at this time.

The crash also involved a 2022 Ford F650, driven by a 45-year-old man from North Easton, and a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by a 31-year-old man from Hallandale, Florida.

The operator of the Ford was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

State police said the scene was cleared and all lanes reopened shortly after 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The crash remains under investigation.
