Second Man Charged In August 2nd Murder

The District Attorney's Office has formally charged a second man with murder in the August 2nd shooting death of 25 year old Jeffrey Sylvia Jr. of New Bedford.

Prosecutors say 22 year old Michael Sousa was the shooter in the incident. He'll be arraigned Tuesday morning in District Court. He was initially charged with obstruction of justice in the case.

Seventeen year old Darian Cardoza has also been charged with murder. He's being held without bail.

Sylvia's body was found during the early morning hours of August 2nd, at the intersection of Acushnet Avenue and Blackmer Street.
