New Bedford's acclaimed Sea Lab Program held its 44th Graduation Ceremony on Friday.  The program runs for six-weeks during the summer, providing marine science and related instruction and activities.

Dr Joseph Costa, Director of the Buzzards  Bay Estuary Project served as the keynote speaker, sharing with students his experiences as an early graduate of the Sea Lab Program.  He also brought along a trophy he won for diving during his time at Sea Lab.  Dr. Costa says the program has come a long way.

Thirty-eight graduates received awards and certificates on Friday.  Graduate and 9th grader Rebecca Cabral attended Sea Lab  for six years.  She says she'll never forget the friendships she's made and the experiences they've shared during that time.
