A rumor is gossip or opinion widely spread without any a discernible source for its truth. And in the case of Giammalvo's, the rumor of the local popular market being sold or closing its doors is absolutely erroneous, incorrect and contrary to fact!

I received an on-air call from the Giammalvo family saying the scuttlebutt was upsetting and impacting their business, and asked me to help them spread the truth that the market is doing gangbusters and has not been sold. Apparently, someone started the rumor by saying they "heard on the radio" that the store was sold and closing down. Nothing could be further from the truth!

My wife and I have known and loved the entire Giammalvo family. We worked together when we had the diner, and we consider them a blessing in our community. To think, Giammalvo's Market has been serving customers for over 100 years! That is amazing, and this iconic business does not deserve to have hurtful untruths disseminated throughout the city.

So please do the Giammalvo family business a special favor and share this message with as many friends as you can. And thank you for supporting local mom and pop businesses like Giammalvo's.
