Rhode Island’s Frank Caprio Debuts His New Book on Good Morning America
Everyone’s favorite judge, Frank Caprio, joined Good Morning America on Tuesday to discuss his latest accomplishment.
The Rhode Island judge can now add “author” to his resume as he announced the release of his new book called Compassion in the Court: Life-Changing Stories from America’s Nicest Judge.
Caprio joined GMA’s Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan to talk about the book and why sharing his message of compassion is so important.

Judge Frank Caprio’s New Book
“I decided to write the book to tell the story about my life, particularly about the influences of my parents,” said Caprio. “My dad was a milk man and one of the big problems was when people couldn’t afford to pay their milk bill…My father had his own rule. If they had children, he never stopped (delivering) milk.”
It was lessons like that one that Caprio carried with him into his adult life. His father’s compassion taught him the importance of kindness and understanding, two qualities that made him one of the most famous judges today.

Why Frank Caprio Is the Nicest Judge in the World
While some judges rule with an iron fist, Caprio prefered a calmer approach.
“Just because you have authority, it does not mean you have to exercise that authority in a bad way,” he said. “I always operate under the premise of, ‘Let me place myself in the shoes of that person…how would I want to be treated?’ So, I always treat people the way I would want to be treated.”
In Caprio’s new book, he shares heartwarming stories, life-changing moments, and important lessons in fairness and kindness.
“Compassion, understanding, and sympathy are all things that we should exercise every single day,” he said. “It will make life better, not only for us, but for our community and for our country.”
Compassion in the Court is available in bookstores everywhere and on Amazon.
