Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let’s talk animals.

We believe all animals deserve a loving home and thanks to the help of local shelters, adoptable animals have a fighting chance.

Every week, we spotlight one lucky animal, but this week, we spotlight three dogs that have caught the attention of Judge Frank Caprio.

Frank Caprio Looks to Help 3 Fall River Dogs

Everyone’s favorite judge, Frank Caprio, captured the hearts of the nation with his hugely popular show Caught in Providence. People couldn’t get enough of the Rhode Island native’s kind heart and forgiving nature.

The nation rallied behind him when he announced his cancer diagnosis in December of last year, and we all rejoiced when he announced he completed cancer treatment in June.

The former Municipal Court Chief is a fighter, and now, he’s fighting for three St. Bernard dogs at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River.

“Through the course of my lifetime, I had St. Bernard dogs from the time I was ten years old,” Caprio shared online. “I just heard there were three St.Bernards who were rescued in Fall River.”

Caprio personally asked his producer to visit Forever Paws to learn more about the three dogs and to share their stories to his 2.4 million followers.

Meet Briar, Shasta and Barrel

Ben Worthington, the staff supervisor at Forever Paws, was able to give plenty of insight into Briar, Shasta and Barrel.

“All of them have a goofy personality (and) they are all super sweet,” he said.

The shelter described the siblings as loving and they all do great with other dogs.

Barrel is five years old and loves the company of friendly people. Briar is about three years old and loves to “talk” with grumbles, huffs, and singing.

“She’s a very sweet girl that walks well on a leash,” said the shelter.

Shasta is about four years old, and even though she is 140 pounds, she is convinced she is a lap dog.

Briar, Shasta and Barrel are siblings and the goal is to keep them together. The shelter will entertain adopting the dogs separately, but the ideal family will take all three.

Caprio’s wish is to keep Briar, Shasta and Barrel together. Keeping families together is kind of his thing.

“I will personally thank the hero who adopts these three dogs and visit their new family,” said the judge.
