Report: Housing Immigrants Made Boston Logan Airport Less Safe
A U.S. Senate Commerce Committee report slammed the administration of former President Joe Biden for using airports to house migrants before the Trump Administration essentially ended Biden's immigration policies and all but sealed the southern border.
According to Breitbart, "The report, titled 'Flight Risk,' detailed the Biden administration's open border policies and found that they 'made airports and aviation less secure in three ways,' specifically."
One example, Breitbart reported, is that airports in three so-called "blue states" – Boston Logan International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, and O'Hare International Airport in Chicago – "housed hundreds of aliens in airport terminals or buildings" that receive federal grants.
"Further, the Biden White House, through the FAA, pressured Logan, O'Hare, and at least eight other airports to house more illegal aliens as they arrived in the United States," according to the report.
The Boston Herald reported, "Massport (The Massachusetts Port Authority) warned of safety risks from migrants sleeping on the floor." The publication said Massport warned the FAA in a series of emails, "We simply do not have facilities at BOS sufficient to operate as an intake center."
The Commerce Committee reported, "The FAA, along with the Democratic state and local officials, overruled Massport's warnings and allowed aliens to sleep overnight in Logan airport terminals for more than a year."
The committee also found that the Biden administration used "unreliable data" to verify the identities of the aliens, while diverting air marshals from flights to the southern border to assist with the migrant crisis there.

WBSM reported in March that after much prodding, Massport agreed to turn over documents about the number of migrants housed at Logan.
Massport spokesperson Jennifer Mehigan told the Herald, "Logan Airport was used as an emergency space when the state's shelter system was over capacity. The airport did not provide any services to the migrants – they arrived late afternoon or evening, stayed in an unused public space in Terminal E, and were transported back to the state's welcome centers in the morning."
The Healey Administration's handling of the migrant crisis has drawn sharp criticism from political foes and some members of the public who object to the potential cost to taxpayers, which could exceed $4 billion.
