Report: House Majority Whip Steve Scalise Shot at Baseball Practice

(Alexandria, VA) - There are multiple reports that House Majority Whip Stephen Scalise has been shot in Alexandria, Virginia. Several others were also hit in the incident and a suspect is reportedly in custody.

The Louisiana Republican was apparently at a baseball field where people were practicing for a congressional game scheduled for later this week.

Scalise has been in Congress since 2008. He previously served in the Louisiana House and Senate.
