BOURNE —The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will continue repair work to both the Bourne Bridge and Sagamore Bridge this week.

Night work on the bridges will last from Monday night thru Friday night as needed to complete the bridge repair project.  The repair work is critical to maintaining the structural integrity of the bridges, which are a vital component to the transportation system of Cape Cod, the Islands and southeastern Massachusetts.

There will be one lane open in each direction on only one bridge at a time between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the following morning on nights that work will be done. The work is weather dependent and will be scheduled when there is a period or warm, dry weather for the contractor to complete the work. Repair work was not completed last week due to heavy rainstorms.

The Corps of Engineers team thanks the Cape Cod and region commuting public for their understanding and patience during the execution of these necessary bridge repair activities and lane closures.
