Registration Open For Mother’s Day Tiara 5K In Mattapoisett

Registration is now open for the 11th Annual Women's Fund Tiara 5K, walk and fun run, which is set for Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14 in Mattapoisett.

According to South Coast Today.com, the race will start and finish at Oxford Creamery in Mattapoisett. Registration will start at 7 a.m., with the Children's Fun Run starting at 9 a.m. and the 5K starting at 9:30 a.m..

Many friends and families have made the event an annual Mother's Day morning tradition.

The 5K has become the largest fundraising activity and signature event of the Women's Fund. Last year's 5K event attracted more than 1,000 participants and raised more than $56,000.

Participants can register at womensfundtiara5k.com. The fee is $20 for the 5K and $5 for the children's fun run, and the cost will be $30 for 5K runners as of May 1.

Also, the fund also is looking for volunteers to support the race. Those who are interested should email tiara5kvolunteer@gmail.com.

The lead sponsor of the event is Hawthorn Medical. "Additional leadership level sponsors include Turowski2 Architecture, Boutique Fitness, Fiber Optic Center, the Roberts Family, the Stone Family and Zibra Corporation."
