The Boston Red Sox kicked off their preseason slate Thursday with wins over Notheastern University and Boston College.

As is customary for the Sox, the team linked up with the Boston-based schools for some early season action.

Playing first against the Huskies of Northeastern, the Boston split squad dominated in a 15-2 win.

The win featured appearances by Andrew Benintendi, Jackie Bradley Jr., Brock Holt, Blake Swihart, Rafael Devers, Mitch Moreland and Devin Marrero.

Bradley and Moreland each had a hit and an RBI, while Holt was 2-2 with 2 RBI and Swihart drove in three runs and hit a triple.

In the second of the two games, Boston won by a much closer margin of 4-2 over the Eagles.

The game had a much less stellar lineup, featuring Sandy Leon, Rusney Castillo, and Sam Travis.

Travis, Jesus Quiroz, and Oscar Hernandez all chipped in with an RBI apiece.
