Prostitution Sting Results In Eight Arrests

Detectives in New Bedford's Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau set up a prostitution sting Friday night in the North End.

Det. Captain Steve Vicente tells WBSM News, Police took the action because of repeated complaints from North End residents about an increase in prostitution in the area.

An undercover police officer posed as a prostitute, and eight men were arrested and charged with soliciting sex for a fee. All were scheduled to appear in New Bedford District Court.

The following individuals were arrested Friday night:

Jacorey Sanders age 22
Solano Perez age 28
Rodrygo Deleon age 24
Steven Ryan age 55
Hector Benito age 35
Ignacio Rojas age 43
Francisco Maldonado age 37
Alejandro Quino age 35

All eight suspects are from New Bedford.
