An ordinance designed to hold landlords accountable has remained in committee for two years, but could be decided on Tuesday night.

Mayor Jon Mitchell's "Problem Properties" proposal will again be discussed in the City Council's Committee on Ordinances, after undergoing revisions.

Councilor at Large Naomi Carney tells WBSM News she would like to see landlords notified of problems at their properties before they are penalized.

Carney says though the notification process remains to be seen, she wants to see the ordinance passed.

The ordinance is designed to hold landlords more accountable for their properties and tenants.
