New Bedford Police are investigating how 50 percocet pills went missing from a secure locker at the Rockdale Avenue headquarters.

Police Chief David Provencher confirmed the investigation for WBSM News and said only police had access to that locker.  The Chief said the investigation is in its early stages.  He said the pills were reported missing when a man who was recently released from the Ash Street Jail, returned to the Rockdale Avenue station to pick up his property; the pills, and they could not be located.  Provencher said the man had a legitimate prescription for the pills.
