NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police arrested two men early Sunday in connection with the stabbing of three people outside the newly-opened Mi Antojos restaurant, located at 601 South Second Street. Due to the quick response of the responding officers, arrests were made at the scene.

Emmanuel Ernesto Lopez, 32, of 90 Purchase St., New Bedford, was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, disturbing the peace while armed, assault with a dangerous weapon, giving a false name, assault with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Erik Cortez-Lopez, 21, of 49 Salisbury St., New Bedford, was charged with three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disturbing the peace while armed and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Two of the victims were transported to St. Luke's Hospital and one to Rhode Island Hospital. Injuries suffered were non-life-threatening and all are expected to survive. All three victims were male, ages 22, 26 and 34.

Lopez and Cortez-Lopez are being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing November 9.

Mi Antojos had just celebrated its opening Friday.
