Plymouth Sam Diego’s Mexican Restaurant To Be Sold
We've got some good news and bad news to report to fans of Sam Diego's Mexican restaurants.
The bad news first: Sam Diego's in Plymouth will be sold to another restaurant group and will likely be closed for the summer.
The owners of a pair of Mexican restaurants, Anejo, have reportedly purchased the popular Plymouth location, a stone's throw (no pun intended) from Plymouth's most visited rock. Anejo has two locations on the Cape (Hyannis and Falmouth), and no doubt would love to add Plymouth to the portfolio.

We're told the new owner will likely take a few months to revamp the current Plymouth Sam Diego's look to match the Anejo brand better. Therefore, the new Plymouth Mexican restaurant is not expected to open until sometime in September.
Now, the good news. Sam Diego's Hyannis location is not part of the sale and will remain open and running as usual.
Why are the owners selling Plymouth?
"We've just decided that the ownership and management group in Plymouth is aging out. Some people are moving on. It changed hands, and we're just waiting for it to be done," Sam Diego's Dining Room Manager Karen Buchanan said. "However, I think Plymouth will continue to be a Mexican restaurant. I understand the new ownership group has a couple of them already. But Sam Diego's Hyannis is staying on, as is. I think a lot of people think that we're closing, but they'll see when we continue to be here."
While managers at the Anejo restaurant in Falmouth and Hyannis were not at liberty to comment about the sale, each promised to reach out to ownership.
We will let you know as soon as we hear anything further.
