Missing Plymouth Man Found Dead
PLYMOUTH — A 69-year-old man who was reported missing June 17 was found dead Saturday after an extensive four-day search.
The body of Rodney Riviello was discovered outdoors in Plymouth, according to Police Chief Dana Flynn and Fire Chief Neil Foley.
"The members of the Plymouth Police Department and Plymouth Fire Department offer their sincere condolences to Mr. Riviello's family and loved ones," Flynn and Foley said in a news release.
The release noted more information would be provided in coming days.
In a statement, Riviello's family said they were "devastated" by the loss. "This entire ordeal has been extremely difficult and unbelievable," the statement read in part. "The only comfort we've had this week was holding onto the hope that dad would come home safe and relying on the incredible support that our family, friends, the media and the community of Plymouth have shown us,"
Riviello, who had memory issues, went missing after being discharged from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth without his cell phone or wallet. Authorities believed him to be traveling on foot. The family had offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to his return.
